The Trickle Net Original is a super strong slow feeding net with 25 mm holes, which are fixed, so no stretching. This net holds approx 8.5kg dry hay, and will trickle feed your horse for hours. Ideal for horses who spend long hours in the stable, or those who need help with weight control or gut health. Recommended by vets for the management of laminitis. These nets are also ideal for feeding forage on grass free turnout or track systems.
Trickle Net Small Bale Net
The Trickle Net Small Bale Net will hold a standard UK bale of hay. Ideal for sharing or for track systems. The holes are 25 mm. Handmade with premium materials, and comes with a fixing kit which gives you plenty of choice in how to use it. We do not recommend ground use for shod horses, unless used inside a tub.
Trickle Net Mini
The fabulous Trickle Net Mini will certainly slow down your mini monster! With strong 24 mm fixed holes, so no stretching, they will hold up to 4kg dry hay and are ideal to give lots of nibble time ensuring your pony isn’t stood bored and hungry. They are also perfect for travelling.

Our amazing Large Round Bale net can double the time your bale lasts and cut waste to nothing! With strong 35 mm holes, it’s ideal for slow feeding multiple horses and can be used with round bale hay or haylage. Tailored to fit the bale, they are very easy to fit. FAQ's
Can Trickle Nets be used for soaking / feeding soaked hay?
Yes they can. All Trickle Net products are rot proof and will stand up to years of soaking! Horses can eat soaked hay from Trickle Nets.
What size do I need for my horse?
The Original holds 8.5kg dry hay, so it’s big enough to feed a large horse overnight. The Mini holds 4 kg dry hay, enough for a large pony. We recommend an Original for any equine over 14hh and a Mini for those smaller.
Will my horse learn to use a Trickle Net?
Yes! If you’re patient most horses will learn to use a Trickle Net effectively. Some take to it immediately, and some require a little time. We recommend introducing a Trickle Net beside the usual method of feeding forage with a 50/50 ratio. It can take some horses up to 3 weeks to learn the nibble technique, but it’s well worth a little patience. The benefits to your horse and your pocket are great! Don’t forget, we are trying to teach our horses to graze as they do naturally in the field. They may be used to grabbing big mouthfuls and emptying nets too quickly. A Trickle Net is going to be an unwelcome surprise, but they will be healthier and happier in the long run!
Can I use them for travelling?
The Trickle Net Mini is perfect for travelling. It’s a great size and keeps them busy on the box for hours!
Can I use a Trickle Net on the floor / as a hay pillow?
Yes! If your horse is UNSHOD you can use all Trickle Net products on the ground if they are secured safely with no loop of rope left out to catch a hoof.
Reflecting on three fantastic years of Your Horse Live
2020 would have marked our 4th year at YHL and while we are really sorry that the event won’t run in its regular fashion this year, we’ve been reflecting on some of the great opportunities and benefits YHL has afforded our small business over the years. We started with a little 3x3 stand in 2017. We had no graphics and all the products piled up in boxes. It was a bit bohemian! Wow what a show though, we were so busy!
The following year we were very lucky to get an amazing spot overlooking the Live Zone, where celebrities, experts and top class riders are interviewed. We caught the attention of Geoff Billington who came to find out more about us and who now uses and loves our products. We also collaborated with Bransby Horses in the Rescue Village, donating some products and raising some money for them. That year gave us great exposure and increased our brand awareness, particularly among feed companies.
In 2019 we were able to retain the same location but double the size of our stand and add some impressive graphic walls. Once again, we had a hugely successful experience. Geoff came back to see us and stayed for a while selling Trickle Nets to passing customers!
In terms of brand awareness, we find YHL unbeatable. It's brilliant to see customers returning to tell us how great the products are and to hear their success stories. That’s the best part of YHL, getting to know the customers and hearing what a difference the products make.
We often find that the returning customers chat to potential customers on the stand and end up selling the products for us!
We’ve had a lot of interest from top riders at YHL over the years and it’s also where we met Sharon Hunt, who is now our high profile sponsored rider and a great ambassador for the brand.
We've always enjoyed YHL and find Clare and the team terrific to work with. We'll be fully on board with the online version this year, and we are very much looking forward to being back on the stand, face to face with our lovely customers next year.
