Charity of the year announced

Every year, Your Horse Live supports a charity, helping them raise money for the horses they rescue and care for. Our Your Horse magazine readers are given the chance to tell us which charity they would like us to work with, and this year we’re very pleased to announce that top spot has been awarded to Retraining of Racehorses (RoR).
RoR is British Horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses who have retired from racing and its valuable input to ex-racehorses includes:
Raising funds from within the industry for the re-training and rehoming of the horses
Providing a safety net for vulnerable former racehorses
Promoting the horse’s adaptability and versatility to do other equestrian activities
Runs and funds a well-established programme of competitions and educational events across the country
Providing information for owners & trainers in both the racing & equine industries to assist with the rehoming & retraining of their former racehorses
Not all racehorses go on to star in a different disciplines but RoR hopes that, on seeing what can be done, more riders will think about taking on a racehorse when they are looking for a new horse.
At Your Horse Live we’ll be raising money for RoR by donating all the profits from the Shop and Drop areas. The charity will also be demonstrating in the Country and Stable arena over the weekend, which is your chance to find out more and ask questions about how you can help.
